Summary
As a DevOps Engineer supporting our Linux environments, you will be responsible for the automation, deployment, and maintenance of a portfolio of applications running on Linux. This position will have a strong focus on using products like Ansible, Salt, Terraform, Jenkins, Github, etc. to ensure reproducible environments that are able to scale out both on-premises via VMWare as well as move to the cloud (Azure, AWS).
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or closely related subject; an advanced degree is preferred. The Senior DevOps Engineer will be responsible for mentoring and teaching existing team members. As such, the ideal candidate must have experience clearly explaining solutions to complex problems and demonstrate the ability to lead and impart knowledge effectively to junior resources.
This is a multi-tasking environment that demands customer service, communication, and organizational skills. A successful candidate will be motivated, results-oriented, and have a willingness to learn.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, systems analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience
Extensive knowledge in automating system and application lifecycles
Working knowledge of enterprise data center technologies including storage platforms, network switching, and security infrastructure within a virtualized data center
Team lead experience required
Knowledge of business process re-engineering principles and processes
Adept at evaluating problems accurately and displaying sound judgment
Scripting (python, etc.) skills for monitoring and automation
Experience maintaining an infrastructure and ensuring stability while adding new features
Ability to clearly articulate design and implementation choices
Ability to use a wide variety of open-source technologies and tools
Comfort with frequent, incremental code testing and deployment
Possess a strong grasp of automation tools
Comfort with collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional borders
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Maintain and enhance enterprise environment:
Build/Deploy new systems and applications,
Ensure reliability and security via patching and controls,
Move to Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

Create documentation and process improvements
Heavy focus on automation
Evaluate, recommend, and build environments and tools to improve/modernize infrastructure

Request fulfillment
Work with other IT and business owners to process requests
Troubleshoot issues and remediate
