The Business School at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor (tenue track) opening in Information Systems (IS). The position will commence August 2024. We seek motivated applicants with research focused on artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and analytics and their applications in business organizations. Successful candidates must be prepared to conduct high-impact research, publish in high-quality outlets and commit to high-quality teaching.

About the Business School: The Business School is not your average business school. As the business school of a premier technological university, we build on the strengths of WPI by integrating science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) into the curriculum and encouraging interdisciplinary scholarship. Your Qualifications: The ideal applicant will have a Ph.D. in Information Systems or Technology or a closely related area, with research interests related to artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and analytics and their applications in organizations. We will consider candidates in all areas of Information Systems. Preference will be given to those with an ability to engage in high-quality scholarship and high-quality teaching and evidence of interest in AI, ML, and analytics as applied to contexts such as FinTech and Healthcare. The applicants should be prepared to teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels related to these topics. Interest in collaborating with colleagues from other departments is a plus.

Our Expectations: Teaching requirements for tenure track assistant professors in the Business School are three courses per academic year. Graduate courses are in a 14-week semester format, with some offerings online, on campus (3 hours one evening per week), or hybrid. Undergraduate courses are in 7-week format (half semester) and meet twice a week on-campus for 2 hours. At the graduate level, AI, ML, and analytics courses attract students from our MBA, MS Business Analytics, MS Data Science, MS Information Technology, MS in FinTech, and MS in Operations and Supply Chain Management programs. Research leading to publications in high-quality refereed journals is expected and supported.
