This position is responsible for the design, development, administration, implementation, operation and support of Windows Server and Linux Operating Systems infrastructure including Active Directory, enterprise printing, Office 365 administration, and break/fix tasks.I. Major Responsibilities:
1. Designs, builds, configures, and supports all servers (Microsoft Operating Systems 2003 – present).
2. Designs, builds, configures, and support all non-Windows servers (Linux Redhat, CentOS, Magic, etc.).
3. Provides support of Virtual Server and Virtual Desktop environments (VMware 6+, Vsphere 6+)
4. Maintains compliance of antivirus on all servers (Checkpoint, Symantec, CLAM).
5. Provides support to end users and Systems Analysts on Office 365 tenant, including license allocation.
6. Designs and implements Group Policy as needed to support the business.
7. Supports Active Directory environment including design, account support, OU and security group creation and troubleshooting, FSMO roles, etc.
8. Supports and troubleshoots user authentication issues (LDAP, ADFS, SAML).
9. Responsible for installing, configuring, applying periodic service packs and maintaining server(s), portals, platforms and associated applications in support of business processing.
10. Recommends and performs periodic system upgrades as appropriate, working to assess new functionality and enhancements and prepares appropriate project documentation such as upgrade plan and assessment.
11. Migrates system to the latest version and applies approved enhancements.
12. Functions as the 2nd level escalation for System Analysts.
13. Provides maintenance and support for business applications.
14. Evaluates tools as necessary to better manage the system environment.
15. Works with Database Administrators to ensure databases are being appropriately backed up and test restore periodically to ensure data files can be restored, if necessary.
16. Collaborates with users and/or vendor to resolve, track and document any issues through resolution.
17. Provides administration/support for the system and responsible for managing the application technology stack including applying application patches and coordination of OS/DB level patches with the Network and Database Administrators.
18. Responds proactively to technical support and customer service needs in line with provided guidelines for both technical and non-technical users.
19. Develops and runs monthly performance reports and maintains operation handbook.
20. Monitors and tunes systems to insure maximum performance.
21. Monitors and maintains status/activities of all requests logged and promptly addresses production related issues. and concern and ensure all system outages or incidents are logged, resolved and follow-up through complete resolution.
22. Monitors servers and databases to maintain system and server performances and perform capacity planning.
23. Develops detailed project/task plans and schedules related to the design, testing, deployment, and ongoing production support of technology infrastructure.
24. Establishes and meets service level agreements with clients; prepares status reports as requested.
25. Monitors Microsoft Azure environment specific to O365.
26. Works closely with I.S. Security to protect the server infrastructure from critical vulnerabilities.
27. Administers O365 conditional access, data retention, security, and compliance.
28. Manages multiple domains in an Active Directory forest.
29. Provides SSL Certificate management.

II. Position Qualifications:
License/Certification/Education:
Required:
1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information technology or related field.
Preferred:
1. VMWare Certified Professional (VCP), VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP).
2. Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA). Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE).
Experience/Skills:
Required:
1. Minimum five (5) years of related system administration and/or systems engineering experience.
2. Experience in Powershell scripting, Office 365 administration, Microsoft Exchange, Windows Server Operating Systems (2003/2008/2012/2016/2019), Linux Redhat, Checkpoint Antivirus, VMware Vsphere 6.1, and Group Policy.
3. Must have excellent customer service and communication skills, as well as the ability to work closely with teammates and business partners. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience with Active Directory, FSMO roles, GPOs, WSUS, Windows Printing, server backups is required.
4. Must have previous experience setting up and/or administering Windows Server (all versions noted above), DHCP, DNS as is previous enterprise experience with 500+ server environments.
Preferred:
1. Experience with Active Directory design.
2. Experience with Exchange migrations and/or cloud-based mail migrations to O365.
3. Experience with multi-factor authentication.
4. Experience with Mobile Device Management platforms.
5. Experience in the following: Powershell scripting, Spectrum Protect or other enterprise backup solution, VMware VROPs or other enterprise monitoring/alert system, VMware 6.x administration, Linux administration and VMware HorizonView administration, Ivanti Management Suite, Infoblox, VMware LogInsight, and ServiceNow.
This position is required to participate in a 24 x 7 on-call rotation.
Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.
Department-specific competencies and their measurements will be developed and maintained in the individual departments. The competencies will be maintained and attached to the departmental job description. Responsible managers will review competencies with position incumbents.
III. Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions:
Work is considered sedentary. Position requires work indoors in a normal office environment.
