The Opportunity: Contribute To The Growth Of Your Career

We have an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Attorney to join our dynamic global, in-house legal team. This newly created role will provide day to day cybersecurity advice and counsel to global business partners, including but not limited to our Security Operations team, while also supporting the varied related needs of our growing Fortune 100 global retail business. This position will be based in our Framingham, MA headquarters working on-site 2 days a week in our hybrid model.

What You Will Do:

  • Own front-line responsibility for providing legal advice related to global incident response activities, including coordination of escalation and broader involvement within Legal Department as needed
  • Provide counsel on development, enhancement, and implementation of cybersecurity policies, plans and programs
  • Provide counsel on compliance with regulations and industry standards regarding network and data security
  • Advise on the drafting and presentation of communications, training and exercises related to IT Security topics directed both to IT and to broader TJX audiences
  • Participate in and advise on IT Security and regulatory assessments
  • Collaborate with Commercial Legal team on negotiation of contractual terms related to IT security matters and supporting due diligence efforts in connection with the retention of certain third parties
  • Manage and partner with outside counsel strategically and in a cost-effective manner

Who We Are Looking For: You

Requirements:

  • JD and 5-8 years of cybersecurity law experience at a law firm or in-house, ideally a combination of both
  • At least 2-3 years of experience focused on global cybersecurity laws, preferably advising consumer-facing companies
  • Extensive experience identifying and advising on information security and cybersecurity risks, as well as relevant litigation/enforcement experience
  • Proven experience drafting and reviewing policies, contracts, training materials related to information security and cybersecurity
  • Skilled at advising on information security audits, assessments, and compliance matters
  • Experienced with incident response and remediation
  • Comfort providing legal advice that is practical as well as legally sound
  • Sound judgement and ability to evaluate legal risks
  • Comfort managing and prioritizing multiple matters simultaneously – ranging from the complex to the straightforward
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including an ability to connect well with internal clients and be viewed as a trusted partner
  • Strong preference for candidate with CISSP or comparable information security certification(s)
  • Admitted to practice law in Massachusetts or eligible for Massachusetts In-House Counsel Registration
