The Hanover Technology Group is seeking an IT Asset and Configuration Management Specialist to in our Worcester, MA location or remote work arrangement.  

POSITION SUMMARY:

The IT Asset and Configuration Management Specialist will play a pivotal role in enhancing and supporting asset and configuration management processes while maintaining an accurate inventory of IT assets. 

This position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure data accuracy and compliance within the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).

This role will encompass the responsibilities of a process analyst and software asset lifecycle administrator.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

Asset Lifecycle Management:

  • Oversee the daily and long-term strategic management of software and technology-related hardware within the organization.
  • Plan, monitor, and record software and hardware licenses to ensure compliance with vendor contracts.
  • Develop and implement procedures for tracking software and hardware assets throughout their lifecycles.
  • Establish a linkage with portfolio and procurement processes to track asset acquisition, utilization, and retirement

Process Analysis and Enhancement:

  • Conduct regular reviews and audits of hardware and software asset management processes to ensure compliance with organizational policies.
  • Analyze and evaluate existing asset management practices, identifying areas for improvement and recommending effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT operations, procurement, finance, and legal departments, to gather relevant asset information and ensure accurate asset tracking.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of asset management policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Oversees development and maintenance of tracking system for all hardware/software assets to maintain an accurate inventory and accounting of all assets and their components.
  • Establishes linkage with portfolio and procurement processes to track asset acquisition, utilization, and retirement of assets.  

Data Management and Compliance:

  • Maintain accurate records of all IT assets, including hardware, software licenses, and subscriptions, utilizing appropriate asset management tools.
  • Perform regular audits to reconcile asset records with the actual inventory, resolving any discrepancies or issues.
  • Deliver audit reporting and ensure software entitlement data is complete and in compliance. 

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Provide guidance and support to end-users and IT staff on asset management processes, ensuring proper asset utilization and adherence to policies.
  • Work with senior management and vendor management functions to review technology resources, expenses, and vendor purchase agreements.
  • Collaborate with a diverse team of business analysts, technical experts, and process owners to address service-level issues.

WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a computer-related field.
  • inimum 5 years of working in process-related roles.
  • Minimum 2 years of working experience with data-related roles.
  • Understanding of software architecture and underlying infrastructure requirements.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects of medium to large size.
  • Familiarity with policy formulation and communication.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with technology-related projects with minimum guidance.
  • Knowledge of IT systems, programs, infrastructure, networking, applications, and their relationships.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with software asset lifecycle management processes.
  • General knowledge of accounting, finance, marketing, and logistics
  • Experience creating and executing audits.
  • Experience working with finance, architects, and provisioning teams to implement Asset and Configuration Item lifecycles.
  • Knowledge of the ServiceNow Platform, including ITOM Discovery.
  • ITIL Foundations Certified desired.
  • Relevant certifications in IT software asset management and related fields are a plus.
