Job Description:

The Cyber Range Manager will be responsible for the technical and business operations of The Springfield Cyber Security Center of Excellence (CCE), located at Union Station in Springfield, MA. The Cyber Range manager is responsible for overseeing cyber range activities, including planning training exercises, establishing relationships, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring the efficient operation of technical infrastructure and resources. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cybersecurity, experience managing technical teams, and a passion for cybersecurity training and development.

The Cyber Range Manager reports to Vice President/Chief Information Officer & Senior Director of Infrastructure and Security. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement training programs for cybersecurity professionals and other stakeholders, including government agencies, private companies, and academic institutions.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that training exercises meet their needs and objectives.
  • Manage cyber range scheduling, training, and performance management.
  • Conduct research and stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in cybersecurity training and development.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to customers and stakeholders.
  • Plan and organize cybersecurity events and workshops for students, faculty, and community members.
  • Establish partnerships with area local high schools, community organizations, and businesses to promote cybersecurity awareness and education.
  • Collaborate with faculty and community leaders to establish cyber range operations and develop cybersecurity curricula.
  • Serve as a liaison between the cyber range and external stakeholders, including government agencies, academic institutions, and industry partners.
  • Monitor training exercises and provide feedback to participants and stakeholders.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on cyber range activities, metrics, and outcomes for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in business development activities, including customer engagement and proposal development.
  • Contribute to grant writing and fundraising efforts to support cyber range operations, programming, and outreach activities.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, including experience managing technical teams.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, practices, and technologies.
  • Experience with cyber range or training program development and management.
  • Experience with networking and system administration.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA Security+ are preferred.
  • Knowledge of standards and practices related to information security, including state and federal regulatory requirements related to HIPAA, FERPA, PCI, and risk management.

Additional Information:

Salary:  $130,000 - $140,000
Benefits:  Yes, FT position Monday-Friday, 37.5 hours per week
