Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) is seeking a Chief Cyber Engineer to join our team supporting a major state & local government customer. This position reports to the Technical Director as the primary technical engineer and architect responsible for cyber systems implementation and maintenance.
This role is fully remote!
Essential duties of this position include:
- Act as the primary technical subject matter expert for all program provided systems (SIEM, EDR, NDR, FW, WAF.)
- Hands on technical management of service delivery systems.
- At the direction of the Technical Director, provide technical guidance and mentoring for the cyber architecture and engineering team.
- Architecting new or changed IT & Cyber services, service Management Systems, technologies, processes, data and metrics collection.
- Create, document, manage and maintain IT enterprise architecture models and their sub-components.
- Developing technology roadmaps, refresh plans, and supporting technical designs for cyber systems
- Develop solution designs based on collaboration with a diverse group including customers, engineers, and other enterprise architects.
- Ability to resolve complex issues related to enterprise-wide concerns.
Qualifications
Required Education and Qualifications:
- BS Degree and 9+ years of experience required;14+ years of experience is highly preferred or Masters and 7+ years of experience required; 12+ years of experience highly preferred.
- 3 years technical within the past 5 years of experience performing hands on engineering of SIEM systems.
- Candidates must be able to pass a CJIS Criminal Justice background investigation and maintain CJIS clearance throughout employment term.
Required Experience:
- Experience in supporting a large, complex IT environment for a Federal or State Government.
- Requires hands on experience with Microsoft Sentinel or a competing product, and either CrowdStrike or SentinelOne.
- Preferred hands-on experience with ManageEngine, ServiceNow, Palo Alto Firewalls, and VectraAI.
- Preferred Experience in Cloud Architecture – be able to create/validate architecture designs in various Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure) Commercial and Gov.
- Real world experience and working knowledge of FEDRAMP, NIST 800-53 controls, System Security Plan (SSP) and Baseline support.
- The ideal candidate will have extensive infrastructure experience including solution design; experience translating business requirements and objectives into IT strategy; and experience with one or more frameworks for best practice delivery including ITIL v4 and TOGAF.
Preferred Experience:
- 5 years technical and/or management experience supported industry and/or Government Sector cloud initiatives at an enterprise level.
- ITIL v4 certification preferred (Foundation or above.)
- SIEM Product certification preferred.
Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
