SAIC is currently looking for a Systems Engineer Journeyman to support our team located in Washington, DC area. In addition to supporting systems engineering efforts in support of the Division’s various programs the incumbent will be responsible for leading both the configuration and risk management functions for the organization.
General Overview:
- Ensure that engineering efforts follow the Department’s Systems Engineering Lifecyle process.
- Work in a multifaceted team with many stakeholders (engineering, logistics and program leadership) in problem solving efforts for designated aspects of complex problems with many competing objectives, variables, and constraints.
- Assist with documenting solutions in relation to the technical, cost, and schedule constraints.
- Development and review of various technical documentation, including change management documentation, presentation materials, and white papers.
- Participate in and assist in activities for various segments of program execution, which may include Risk Management, Configuration Management, and Technical Reviews.
- Communicate with stakeholders across program offices and industry stakeholders.
Qualifications
Required:
- BS and a minimum of 2 years of experience in the systems engineering field for requirements management/verification
- Able to obtain and maintain a public trust requiring U.S. Citizenship.
- Understanding of IT risk management principles and industry standards.
- Proficiency in risk assessment methodologies, vulnerability assessment tools, and security frameworks.
- Possesses excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and provide practical solutions.
- Effective communication skills to convey technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Possess a collaborative attitude with the ability to work across different teams and departments.
- Must possess an active DoD SECRET clearance and be able to successfully obtain suitability with the Department of Homeland Security.
Desired:
- 5 years of system engineering experience
- Active DHS suitability
- Experience with DHS and/or DoD strongly preferred.
Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
