SAIC is seeking experienced Systems Engineers of all experience levels to support of Space Development Agency (SDA) Advanced Fire Control Ground Infrastructure (AFCGI) program. This position requires an active Top Secret security clearance and is hybrid remote with occasional work at local SAIC sites and travel to customer sites. Desired physical location is in the Chantilly, VA or Huntsville, AL area.
SAIC will be developing, deploying, operating and maintaining a common, enduring, ground infrastructure to support multiple SDA space vehicle demonstration and experimentation programs. The ground infrastructure consists of worldwide Ground Entry Points (GEPs, which are ground antennas), cloud infrastructure, Demonstration Operations Center (DOC), monitoring and control software, and a global network to tie it all together. Consistent with the SDA’s approach, the program will be fast-paced, dynamic, highly exciting and uniquely rewarding for the right candidate.
The Systems Engineer responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of program requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
- Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software or engineering specifications.
- Provides specific, detailed information for selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Active TS clearance.
- Bachelor’s Degree and 9 years of relevant experience OR Masters and 7 years of relevant experience.
- Open to lesser experience levels.
- Additional professional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
- Developing and/or sustaining national security, no-fail mission systems.
- Experience leading waterfall-to-agile transformations, designed to deliver Minimum Viable Products in a consistent cadence.
- Experience with a broad range of system types: custom developed HW/SW, COTS/GOTS HW/SW, and specialty engineering.
- A high degree of proficiency using DOORs.
- Experience with implementing and sustaining distributed systems and virtual operating system environments.
Desired Qualifications:
- SCI eligibility.
- Experience in systems engineering, Model-based Systems Engineering and related areas, to include managing teams/projects delivering solutions for national security ground and/or space mission systems.
- Experience designing, delivering and operating national security ground antennas, cloud infrastructure, mission networks and/or mission operations centers.
Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
