The Systems Engineering & Test Capabilities directorate has an immediate need for an onsite Operations and Maintenance Senior Systems Engineer who will support hardware/software integration and activities within the Andover based PATRIOT Labs.

As a member of the PATRIOT Test Facility – Andover Operations and Maintenance team, you will share responsibility for ensuring that the tactical and test hardware in the lab is fully functional and properly configured to support continuous software testing and development for the PATRIOT programs. Responsibilities include executing preventive and corrective maintenance, performing system and component troubleshooting, repairing PATRIOT system hardware, and working with engineering teams to debug software, hardware, and configuration issues.


This is a full-time, onsite position in Andover, MA, working 2nd shift. Standard working hours are 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

What You Will Do

  • Provide technical operations and maintenance support for site radar systems, including issue identification and troubleshooting as directed by site leads and team members.

  • Maintain the health and operational status of PATRIOT hardware in support of lab missions, and coordinate calibration and maintenance requests as needed.

  • Support hardware integration and test activities, including configuration of test equipment and tactical hardware.

  • Provide engineering support for Configuration Management (CM) of hardware and software.

  • Support extended and off‑hours testing as required to meet contractual commitments.

  • Contribute to the successful technical execution of complex integration and test events.

  • Interact with team members from various engineering disciplines (hardware, software, mechanical, systems integration and test, etc.) at a technical level.

  • Collaborate with lab team members and users to promptly address safety and compliance issues.

  • Demonstrate flexibility by accommodating user requests, thinking quickly, and prioritizing the immediate resolution of system issues impacting the user community while balancing daily lab activities.

  • Work effectively in a high‑paced, dynamic, multi‑tasking environment, including performing outdoor work in inclement weather.

  • Support continuous improvement by identifying and troubleshooting hardware issues and clearly documenting all actions taken.

  • Perform lifting, installation, and removal of heavy hardware within the confined space of the PATRIOT end‑item aisle (3 feet wide, under 5 feet high).

  • Mentor and support the technical growth of peers and junior engineers by identifying opportunities to enhance team technical acumen.

  • Safely access and lift floor‑level mounted equipment weighing over 50 pounds, follow established safety policies and procedures, and perform physical tasks outdoors in non‑climate‑controlled environments.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.

  • Experience working in a test facility, depot, field environment, and/or integration lab.

  • Experience identifying and troubleshooting hardware issues, including documenting resolutions.

  • Experience with software and systems integration planning and implementation.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Familiarization with PATRIOT Technical Manuals and PATRIOT Maintenance Control System diagnostic software

  • Experience using spectrum analyzer, multi-meter, power meters, oscilloscope and other general RF test lab equipment

  • Demonstrated proficiency utilizing mechanical tool skills. (e.g., power tools, hand tools, etc.)

  • Experience with LINUX and/or UNIX.

  • Experience working with MATLAB (including object-oriented programming), ADA, Python, C/C++, and/or Java

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
