Its work spans mission integration, lifecycle systems engineering, and acquisition systems engineering, helping government sponsors improve complex systems and operational mission effectiveness.
Roles & Responsibilities:
The Systems and Operations Department is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support government customer mission and program needs across complex, evolving technical environments. The selected candidate will:
- Analyze existing systems and defines, designs and develops new system requirements.
- Determine system specifications, input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility. Develop, or modify products, applying engineering principles.
- Determine feasibility of designs considering costs, time limitations, planning, and other technical and economic factors.
- Conduct engineering studies on design for products, associated and subsystems components, and structures.
Key responsibilities will require:
- Apply traditional systems engineering and, where appropriate, model-based systems engineering (MBSE) approaches across concept development, design, integration, verification, validation, and transition.
- Defining requirements for the integration of complex electronic warfare capabilities into operation use cases.
- Understanding, assessing, and mitigating technical risk within the sponsor’s cost, schedule, and performance allocations to deliver realistic and success-oriented development and test strategies.
- Working directly with operational field users to capture needs and inform system designs and verification methodologies.
- Leading the definition and execution of validation and verification (V&V) strategies, plans, and procedures at all levels (component to system-of-systems).
- Leading the definition and execution of intricate and unique field V&V and troubleshooting operations through collaboration with stakeholder and contractor teams to expeditiously integrate ‘best-of-breed’ capabilities onto a variety of operational platforms.
- Advise and support USAF program leadership as their trusted agent by clearly defining situations and options, recommending solutions, and reporting on progress.
