We analyze cyber capabilities and missions, develop advanced technology, and prototype software that cyber operators use to protect our nation’s most critical systems. Our researchers and engineers pioneer next-generation security architectures, enable effective decision making by cyber operators, and integrate cyber operations with other critical missions to create a holistic approach to national defense.

Projects are carried out by small, focused, cooperative teams that succeed together by participating in all phases of technical solution development, including systems analysis, innovative solution design, system architecture, solution prototyping and field-testing, and final technology transfer to Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) sponsors or industry. The group comprises computer scientists, mathematicians, machine learning researchers and practitioners, system analysts, software developers and security architects who firmly believe we can improve the security of the nation.

Position Description

As a member of the Cyber Operations and Analysis Technology group, you will be working with world class researchers and scientists in helping the Nation improve its operations and operational capabilities within the cyber domain. As an individual contributor in a team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and/or evaluating novel technical solutions in support of mission needs. You will assist in studying emerging mission needs, and apply complex and creative solutions in support of cyberspace operations and large systems of systems integration. You will have many opportunities to research and publish your work as well as deliver technology to some of the most critical national needs.

Requirements

  • A Master’s degree, or a Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of experience in Computer Science, Computer Security, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, or related field
  • An ideal candidate will have proven track record of working independently to solve problems through research and application of technology
  • Experience in modern programming languages including Python and Java
  • Experience in modern software engineering practices such as agile and DevSecOps
  • Understanding of cyber security concepts
  • Active Top Secret clearance or ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance

Desired Knowledge

  • Experience developing AI/ML technologies
  • Understanding of container technologies and usage of modern software architectures
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust security principles and design
  • Understanding of cloud services and platforms
  • UI development experience
  • Academic or professional research experience and/or publication in the areas of computer security or defensive cyberspace operations
