As part of Microsoft Azure, the Azure Networking team designs and builds the network infrastructure that powers hundreds of thousands of servers in datacenters around the globe, providing network infrastructure services for Azure, Bing, AI, and other Microsoft cloud services. In Azure Networking, we are at the very front of Cloud Computing by running one of the largest data center network infrastructures in the world. Our team is responsible for ensuring the reliability of these networks, even in the face of constant change. We rely on cutting edge network architecture and design for this purpose. As a Senior Cloud Network Engineer, by joining this team, you will gain marketable experience in service-oriented network architectures at massive scale.
The Team goal is to execute 400Gbps network mitigation to enable Azure Region Growth. The Job Purpose is to are create migration strategy, test the migration approach and execute the migration.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years technical experience in cloud network design, development, migration and automation
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 4+ years technical experience in cloud network design, development, migration and automation
- OR Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ years technical experience in cloud network design, development, migration and automation
- OR Doctorate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 2+ years of experience with TCP/IP and different routing protocols: BGP, ISIS, OSPF, MPLS, Segment Routing, etc.
- 2+ years of experience delivering cloud network designs and migration into production and experience with live site accountability for a network
Other Requirements:
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 11+ years technical experience in cloud network design, development, migration and automation
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 8+ years technical experience in cloud network design, development, migration and automation
- OR Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 6+ years technical experience in cloud network design, development, migration and automation
- OR Doctorate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ years technical experience in cloud network design, development, migration and automation. 1+ year(s) experience delivering cloud network designs into production and experience with live site accountability for a network.
- Experience with different networking technologies: network device hardware architecture, optical technologies, etc.
- Hold professional networking certification (example CCIE, CCDE, CCAr, JNCIE, etc…)
Cloud Network Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.

Responsibilities
- Create design document and metadata for migration
- Execute proof of concept and pilot for migration
- Create migration strategy to ensure smooth transition from current design to next generation design
- Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guides other engineers by developing and following the playbook, working on call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions, alerting stakeholders about status and initiates actions to restore system/product/service for simple and complex problems when appropriate.
