Job Summary
The Senior Operations Manager will receive general supervision from the Assistant Director to lead the operations of all Distributed Campuses not considered part of or within close proximity of the main campus. including the direct report of (2) shift Sgt’s. As Region 2 continues to expand, currently comprised of (17) off-site locations, expansion of police and security staffing will also expand. The Region Two Senior Operations Supervisor will be tasked with direct oversight of any supervisors, officers and concierge that may be added to meet the needs of the ongoing expansion of BWH Region Two locations both staffed and not staffed. The Senior Operations Supervisor for Region Two is charged with the mission of providing a safe and secure environment for the Brigham and Women’s Hospital community.Successful candidates will have flexible schedule availability, the ability to lead a progressive and evolving operation, demonstrated leadership experience, and the motivation to achieve and drive the high professional standards required by the department.
General Summary/Overview Statement
Receiving general direction from the Assistant Director. Incumbent ensures a safe and secure environment, provides protective service and response for protection of the people and property of the Hospital.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
• Responsible for direct supervision of Police and Security Sergeants (currently 2 FTE’s) assigned to shift. Recommends various personnel actions including hiring, promotion, transfer and termination. Executes disciplinary action as necessary.
• Overall responsibility for 2 Sergeants, and ~22 FTE Security Officers and Concierges. Accommodates staffing changes as needed.
• Coordinates and ensures that periodic scheduled meetings take place with his direct reports.
• Assumes a Point of Contact (POC) role with all practice managers and administration to respond to incidents and issues as needed.
• Assists the Director and Assistant Director with managing human resource functions such as interviewing, hiring, orienting, performance evaluations, counseling and disciplinary actions for field services division assigned to the Distributed Campuses.
• Serves as the primary liaison with Team Ops in Foxboro along with similar in other locations that handle exterior security for the property where the respective Region Two campus is located.
• Serves as the primary liaison with other MGB practices sharing space on the respective campus, such as but not limited to: Spaulding, MGH and Dana Farber at the Foxboro facility.
• Ensures processes, policies and practices are interpreted and applied consistently and effectively across the department, ensures accountability and compliance with all current and applicable state and federal laws, hospital policies and procedures, rules and regulations.
• Works directly with Investigators on all internal and external investigations as needed in accordance with Brigham and Women’s Hospital policy.
• Identifies training needs for assigned staff and communicates needs to department leadership.
• Ensures Field Services compliance with the lost & found program and valuables intake/release process for Region Two campuses.
• Processes and assists in ensuring staff properly trained in processing payroll via the UKG/Workday system.
• Attends meetings on behalf of the department as directed; understands and keeps abreast of industry trends.
• As a sworn as a Special State Police Officer, performs all the duties outlined in the BWH Police Officer position in addition to the above.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility
• Responsible for direct supervision of Sergeants assigned to Region Two. Recommends various personnel actions including hiring, promotion, transfer, and termination. Executes disciplinary action as necessary in conjunction with BWH policies, along with consultation with Human Resources and the BWH Police and Security Director/Assistant Director.
• Overall responsibility for (2) Sergeants and ~22+ FTE Officers and Concierges.

Qualifications
- Minimum of an Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or related field required, Master’s degree is preferred. A combination of experience and education will also be considered.
- A minimum of five years of experience in Security, Law Enforcement or Military required with three years in a supervisory position required. Ten years of experience with five years of experience in a supervisory capacity in same is preferred and will be considered.
- Must submit to and pass an initial and annual criminal background check.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Massachusetts Driver’s License
- The ability to be licensed as a Special State Police Officer under the Commonwealth of MA General Laws Chapter 22 C, section 63 required. If already certified under the above provision, incumbent must consistently meet all training and other requirements for continued licensure.
- Must obtain and maintain required certifications in the following programs and training provided by department, including but not limited to: CPR/AED/First Aid; Narcan (Naloxone) Training; AVADE/HDTS De-Escalation Training.
- Must have the ability to obtain International Association of Healthcare Safety and Security (IAHSS) Supervisor Certification (Includes Basic, Advanced, and Supervisor certifications) within 1 year of hire.
- Incident Command Systems (ICS) 100/200/700 within 1 year of hire.

- Must be able to handle complex interpersonal situations and crisis management scenarios.
- Reliable and flexible in schedule as needed.
- Must be able to prepare clear and concise reports and routine correspondence.
- Strong risk analysis and organizational skills.
- Must be able to gather, assemble, analyze, evaluate, and use facts and evidence. Interview victims, complainants, witnesses, and suspects.

- Must be proficient with the operation of office equipment including computers and supporting word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently. Fluency in more than one language is an added plus.
