See open jobs at Leidos.See open jobs similar to "Cybersecurity Systems Engineer (Telecom)" MassCyberCenter.Leidos is looking for a Cybersecurity Systems Engineer to join our team of engineers, analysts, and task leaders in providing technical support to the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) Emergency Communications Division (ECD) for the national security and emergency preparedness (NS/EP) Priority Telecommunications Services (PTS) Program. Supporting the ECD mission, the Systems Engineer will interact with other Government contractors and US communications services providers to identify new technologies as they become available and adapt them with priority capability to provide priority communications over current and next generation wireline and wireless networks for services such as voice over IP (VoIP), data, video, and information services. This is a remote position in the national capital region. Candidate must be local to the Vienna, VA area. Occasional attendance at in-person meetings in Reston or Arlington, Virginia may be required.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review service providers’ system design and architecture as well as cybersecurity plans and provide recommendations, host meetings, and write reports, including meeting summaries
- Identify cyber threats and vulnerabilities that may impact priority services (e.g., methods for assessing and mitigating cyber risks)
- Identify operational impacts of cybersecurity lapses on communications networks
- Review communications networks (enterprise/commercial) systems operational performance analysis and provide recommendations
- Review technical documents, reports, and briefings
- Participate in virtual and in-person meetings with Leidos team and Government staff
- Produce solutions to a variety of problems that may arise in an expeditious and timely manner
- Present finding to colleagues, Government customers, working groups on an occasional basis
- Work independently or as part of a technical team, in support of systems engineering projects and proof of concepts
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have completed a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in a Cybersecurity/ Science/Engineering field (Cybersecurity, Systems, Electrical or Computer Science and Engineering preferred) with 8-12 years overall engineering experience
- Demonstrated knowledge/experience in modern communications networks and systems; technologies such as Long-Term Evolution (LTE), 5th Generation Wireless Networks, Wi-Fi, satellite networks, cable, and Internet Protocol (IP) Multimedia Subsystem (IMS); and services such as VoIP, Data, Messaging and Video
- Knowledge of cybersecurity and privacy principles as applicable to communications networks
- Good understanding of networking concepts such as virtualization, software defined network, hypervisor, containerization, orchestration, protocols, and network security methodologies
- In-depth understanding of cloud computing concepts (edge cloud vs. centralized cloud architecture) and cybersecurity challenges for the Private/Hybrid/Public cloud deployments
- Knowledge/understanding of cyber tools and penetration testing approach
- Understanding of web technologies like HTTP2.0, federated ID, OAuth/OpenID/OpenID Connect
- Interact well with a team, positive attitude, good verbal and written communications skills, and strong self-initiative
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must be able to obtain DHS Entry on Duty (EOD)
- No initial clearance needed to start work on the program; however, you must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Familiarity with the Systems Engineering Life Cycle (SELC) process
- Understanding of wireless, satellite, and wireline communications networks, Internet Protocol (IP), information security as well as software defined networks and cloud computing
- CISSP/CCSP or equivalent cyber security related certifications
- Knowledge or experience with some of the following is an advantage: risk analysis, cloud computing, wireless technologies, next generation communications networks, industry standards development organizations, cellular networks, and cable/wireline broadband communication
Hybrid Remote- Candidate must be local to the Vienna, VA area. Onsite is required for occasional meetings, requirements of position and other contract requirements

Pay Range:
Pay Range $101,400.00 - $183,300.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
