An overview of the role

We are looking for an experienced SAP S/4HANA enabled Business Transformation Programme Director who is passionate about using technology to drive business transformation and have a strategic vision for the future. The candidate must have a proven track record of selling and delivering large, complex S/4HANA and other applications enabled transformation deals. They will also be a strong communicator and collaborator, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels, within Capgemini and at clients. They will engage with clients senior business stakeholders early on in their business transformation journey, shape it, write business case, plan, estimate the programme and define roadmap and the future state architecture. This role also requires strong large programme delivery skills and experience, as you will be expected to deliver such programmes.

Why this role?

As a Director in the business you’ll help set the direction, driving forward the business, model our values and behaviours, and coach and develop junior members of the team. Key expectations from this role include:

  • Leading or assist in leading the delivery of large and complex SAP S/4HANA projects, working collaboratively with team members and clients to rapidly understand and define business challenges and potential solutions
  • Build strong, long-lasting client relationships as a trusted advisor at all levels
  • Be involved with leading the pursuit of business development opportunities for SAP and non-SAP business applications enabled transformation programmes.
  • Build a team of business process SMEs
  • Coach, develop, and performance manage team members as part of project delivery.
  • Good overall understanding of SAP solution portfolio, and very good understanding of any of these Finance, Supply chain and logistics processes in context of S/4HANA and other SAP application.

As part of your role, you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the business and your own personal growth, through activities that form part of the following categories:

  • Business Development – Leading/contributing to proposals, RFPs, bids, proposition development, client pitch contribution, client hosting at events.
  • Internal contribution – Campaign development, internal think-tanks, whitepapers, practice development (operations, recruitment, team events & activities), offering development.
  • Learning & development – Training to support your career development and the skills demand within the company, certifications etc.

We’d love to meet someone with:

We are looking for individuals with a proven track record of delivering business value, enjoy working collaboratively with clients and have a passion for developing people. We need strategic thinkers who are fuelled by solving complex problems as part of a results-driven, supportive team. We expect an entrepreneurial flair and a willingness to take calculated risks, alongside a keen appetite to develop new skills. While experience in digital and agile projects are desirable it’s not a pre-requisite: we will support you to develop such skills alongside a wide range of learning and development initiatives. In addition, you’ll have the following experience:

  • Currently working in a major Consulting firm, and/or in industry with a recent Consulting background.
  • Proven business success – demonstrated business success defined by clear, measurable business outcomes achieved.
  • Analysis and problem-solving – the ability to shape and solve problems using a data-driven approach to drive insights that make the difference for our clients.
  • Experience of proposition building and delivery specifically in SAP technologies
  • Relationship building – the ability to develop and maintain peer relationships with senior management level executives.
  • Functional Experience – deep functional expertise in at least one of these Finance, Procurement, Sales or Manufacturing

  • Sector experience – in any of these Energy and Utilities, CPG, Manufacturing or Life Science; an understanding of the current trends and issues in the relevant sector(s) and broader ecosystem, and their impact on organisations and society.
  • Learning and coaching – the desire to continue developing and to develop those around, both for clients and your Capgemini Invent employees.
  • Proven ability to be successful in a matrixed organisation, and to enlist support and commitment from peers in selling and delivering consulting solutions.
  • Business development – utilising a combination of the organisation’s broader pre-existing relationships, company relationships and your own network, you’ll be generating c.£2m of consulting revenues.

Whilst you will have London, Manchester or Glasgow as an office base location, you must be fully flexible in terms of assignment location, as these roles may involve periods of time away from home at short notice.
