Job Summary
ABOUT US:The Schwartz Center for Compassionate Healthcare’s mission is to partner with healthcare organizations to advance compassion for patients, care teams, and their healing relationships. We are a Boston-based nonprofit with national and international reach, with approximately 800 hospitals in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, UK and Ireland. Together, we are helping hundreds of thousands of healthcare professionals provide compassionate care to millions of patients and families. The Schwartz Center’s strategic priorities for the coming decade include expansion of Schwartz Rounds within existing members, as well as to new acute care hospitals and into adjacent healthcare markets such as ambulatory centers, retail health, and virtual/home-based care. We are also looking to strengthen our community of compassionate care champions, who are the clinical leaders running our programs across the globe, and to further develop our Model for Compassionate Care and associated tools and resources. We are looking to build new relationships, collaborations, and partnerships with a wide variety of external organizations and associations who are aligned with our work supporting caregiver well-being and patient/family compassion. Our operational budget is funded approximately 50% by philanthropy, with funds coming from individual, corporate and foundation donors, and 50% by earned revenue, including from our active sites. Qualifications
ABOUT THE WORK:
The Director of Information Systems plans and executes organization-wide information systems strategy and oversees the Information Systems Team in executing this strategy. Primary responsibilities include ensuring optimal support for key information systems, providing oversight into strategy and operations, project management, vendor relations, and managing the Information Systems Team. The position reports to the Senior Director of Operations and supervises the Data Coordinator.
- Builds a culture of customer service within the Information Systems team. Creates and oversees customer service processes for supporting end users in their effective use of organizational information systems.
- Builds the information and application ecosystem at the Schwartz Center in a way that best meets the organization’s operational and reporting requirements. Identifies opportunities for information systems to further the organization’s strategy.
- Manages projects related to key business applications including Salesforce, Intacct, LearnUpon, Cvent, Emma, partner website portal, and related integrations. Leads change management and communication efforts in support of information systems initiatives.
- Provides oversight for the continual improvement of the Salesforce system. Works closely with the information systems team, internal staff, and external stakeholders to identify opportunities to innovate and improve business processes.
- Ensures data systems and requirements are incorporated into organizational planning and development.
- Establishes policies, practices, and security measures to safeguard information resources and comply with compliance requirements.
- Supervises Information Systems staff and supports their professional development.
- Provides oversight to staff members across the organization who manage the daily operations of multiple data systems and tools. May serve as a resource for the Development team in the operation, planning, and management of the Atlas system.
- Provides backup application support as needed.

- 8-10 years of experience supporting organizations in the effective use of information systems and/or a BA
- Prior experience working with Salesforce and ERP systems preferred
- Prior experience designing and managing support processes, with ITIL certification preferred
- Strong understanding of database concepts and methods of systems integration
- Prior experience supervising personnel
- A customer-service approach to serving members and colleagues. Strong communication skills including relationship-building, the ability to manage up and across, and equanimity in working with a variety of personal styles
- Strong analytical and organizational skills including flexibility to manage multiple projects and the ability to delegate.
- Strong commitment to quality work.
- Comfortable working within the guidelines of a larger institution.
- Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends as necessary.
- Desire to be a part of an organization that is creating a better healthcare world.
