The Automotive Systems Division engineering team is looking for a Systems Engineer to support creating and deploying new technologies that will enable future generations of Bose Automotive Audio delivery. This highly self-motivated engineer will take on and independently work on multiple development tasks of variable duration. The tasks at hand focus on the development of a wide range of technologies, ranging from entertainment audio to cabin sound management, as well as a range of deployment methodologies. You will work closely together with hardware, software, & algorithm developers in specifying and designing solutions, including but not limited to embedded and laptop-based solutions.

Systems Engineers perform duties like coordinating system development tasks, requirements gathering and analysis, analyzing solutions' feasibility, handling documentation, and ensuring efficient execution. The most successful example resumes highlight qualifications such as engineering expertise, analytical thinking, attention to detail, and collaboration. We are looking for analytical problem solvers with a systems perspective. They will work across engineering disciplines, but most especially with software engineering, understanding software architecture. The Automotive future is increasingly complex and enabled through software technologies. Successful candidates will understand the complex software automotive environments and apply Bose’s technologies.

This role works across the product lifecycle from business acquisition through system delivery. You will work actively in business pursuit, understanding customers’ needs and identifying potential solutions. You will then see the programs through development and delivery to the customer.

Key Responsibilities:

Systems Design & Decomposition

  • Collaborate with Field Systems Engineers to align system-level objectives with project goals.

  • Conduct System Requirements Reviews to ensure comprehensive understanding across the team.

  • Decompose high-level system requirements into domain-specific functional requirements.

  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams to create robust system architectures and dynamic use cases.

  • Evaluate architectural performance using modeling techniques in real-world vehicle environments.

Platform Systems Architecture

  • Drive consistency across Bose audio platforms by leveraging commonalities in OEM requirements.

  • Define and maintain scalable system architectures that support feature growth and integration.

Feature Definition & Integration

  • Document detailed feature system requirements and interface specifications.

  • Create reusable, comprehensive test plans and support integration and validation testing.

  • Identify and troubleshoot stress points across system components.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in systems or embedded engineering.

  • Strong foundation in embedded software development and system-level architecture (ARM, DSPs, GPUs).

  • Experience collaborating across engineering disciplines, especially with software teams.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Familiarity with electronics and automotive software development life cycles.

  • BS in Electrical, Mechanical, or Software Engineering preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with audio systems, signal processing, and sound management.

  • Familiarity with tools like Simulink, SysML, and MATLAB.

  • Knowledge of vehicle electronic architectures and components (amplifiers, microphones, speakers, transducers).

  • Background in acoustics and automotive NVH.
